When can I call you?

You can call me anytime between 7.30am – 8.30pm 7 days a week during your pregnancy. I can also answer questions via email.
I will then be on call anytime day or night, 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after your due date until your labour begins. Of course if you go into labour before that you can call me then too!

What happens if I labour quickly?

I will come to you whenever you need me to, when you are in labour. If I happen to miss the birth because of a very fast labour, then it just wasn’t meant to be. I will still come to you wherever you are to ‘de-brief’ and to assist you in anyway that I can and to offer breastfeeding support.

Will you support me in early labour at home?

I will come whenever and wherever you need me. I’m here for you.

What if I have an emergency or elective caesarean?

Regardless of the type of birth you have – I will help you prepare for surgery, both emotionally any physically. I will stay until everyone is settled and feeding has been established. I can liaise with staff to help you to have skin to skin contact with your baby to allow optimum bonding and for breastfeeding.

What if I decide to have an epidural?

I support any decision you make. I can support your partner to hold you still while the epidural is put in place. I will become a slave unto you and will massage your legs for you to keep a constant flow of blood to prevent clotting and encourage you to keep well hydrated – which I will do in any type of birth.
